Diary of a CEO — Entry 4“The Sound of Precision”

I’ve always said I’m not a musical person. My world has been defined by structure: by load paths, coefficient drag curves, surface finish tolerances, and carbon layup matrices. Emotion, for me, has always been embedded in performance, not sound.

Yet — every now and then — something cuts through the precision.

Last night it was this:

ROSALÍA - Berghain (Official Video) feat. Björk & Yves Tumor”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htQBS2Ikz6c&list=RDhtQBS2Ikz6c&start_radio=1

The track is quiet at first — almost fragile — and then it gathers itself into something powerful. Intentional. Controlled.

Not loud, but inevitable.

It reminded me of the type of feeling I want every athlete who rides our equipment to experience — that clean, elegant line between control and devotion. The point where art and engineering do not oppose each other, but reinforce each other.

This is something Bugatti has always understood.
Their cars are not designed; they are composed.
Engineering is the grammar, emotion is the meaning.

That is the standard we hold ourselves to at Raymund Afoakwa Consulting | Race Lab and Supermond:

The machine must evoke emotion before it moves.

A track bike is not just carbon, resin, pressure, and geometry.

It is intention, discipline, desire, and the human need to push further into the unknown.

What I heard in that track was commitment — the exact kind an athlete needs when they lower themselves into race position and everything narrows to breath, cadence, and time.

And it reminded me:

We are not building equipment.
We are building interfaces between ambition and reality.

This track renewed something in me.
It sharpened the mission.

We will continue — relentlessly — to develop the fastest bikes and components in the world.

Not because it is difficult.
But because it is necessary.

For the athletes who believe that performance is not just physical —
but emotional.
Personal.
Artistic.

Speed is not the goal.
Expression through speed is.
